The Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades has already begun work on developing a sector at the western end of Grotta, where visitors will be able to explore important private and public remains of the Late Bronze Age that have come to light during rescue excavations by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades. The part chosen is a road/paved street of the Late Cycladic II period (15th century BC) that connected the two ports of Naxos; it is bordered by massive structures, perhaps public buildings, elements of which (white plastered floors and solid walls) are preserved in excellent condition, and are in close proximity to residential remains of the later (second) Mycenaean city (LH IIIC, 12th century BC)
