Delos Open Museum: the project designed and implemented by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades continues with European recognition through the Programs of the Region of South Aegean. The Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Region of South Aegean, is proceeding with the restoration of emblematic monuments of this leading archaeological site so its visitors may enjoy the unique natural and cultural Delian landscape. At the same time, three more programs are being implemented on the island: two are by the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Mykonos, which always supports Delos – these concern the urgent consolidation and maintenance of dilapidated monuments in the sprawling archaeological site. The third program is being implemented in collaboration with the École Française d’Athènes: as the island’s long-time excavating institution, it also contributes to the maintenance of its monuments. In the coming weeks, the Ephorate will open the renovated building of the Delos Museum, which was implemented with funds from the National Strategic Reference Framework (ESPA/EPANEK).
